Ex-bank principal is facing penalties

Federal regulators are seeking to ban the former principal owner of American Sterling Bank in Sugar Creek from the banking industry and assess $2.5 million in civil penalties against him. But Lawrence Dodge, a California businessman with Kansas City ties, has challenged the government’s claims from last summer and will get a hearing in the case next month.
