PATTON: A 1-0 thriller or just 2 lousy teams?

No matter what you may think of the Dodgers and the Padres, at least you can say this as dawn breaks this morning -- neither team is in fifth place in the National League West . One of them, of course, is a huge-market team with an enormous, built-in financial advantage that should never, ever find itself swimming so close to the bottom of this pond of little fishes.
