Sources: Edwards rejected plea deal demanding prison
John Edwards, who pleaded not guilty last week to campaign-finance violations, rejected a plea bargain at the last minute because under its terms he would have had to spend up to six months behind bars — and away from his two young children, to whom he is now the sole parent, according to people with knowledge of the discussions.
