www.ctvvancouverisland.ca http VICTORIA - Education Minister George Abbott is musing about his future in politics. It could be another blow for the BC Liberal Party and its unpopular premier. Deputy Premier and Finance Minister Kevin Falcon was singing out a similar tune on Wednesday. Abbott and Falcon say their decision has nothing to do with the leadership, a theme echoed by the Premier. But CTV News has learned there are Liberal MLAs who are concerned the party may not be on the right track. However caucus is committed to following Clark into next year's election. And they have a plan, spearheaded by Clark's Chief of Staff, Ken Bosenkool, a former advisor to Prime Minister Stephen Harper. The plan is based on the Federal Conservative's attack ad campaign focuses on Michael Ignatieff prior to the last federal election. An ad campaign that defined the former leader as untrustworthy. Sources tell CTV News, the BC liberals are testing similar ads with focus groups targeting NDP Leader Adrian Dix. The ads are expected to roll out in May and will be relentless, painting Dix as untrustworthy and questioning the NDP's ability to manage the economy. But, there are concerns. Though the liberal bank account is flush with cash. party insiders say donations have been slowing, suggesting that even traditional support from business is also eroding.
