I am a senior at Texas Tech University from Houston, Tx. I'm acquiring my Bachelors degree in Advertising with a minor in Psychology. I have been a full time employee and full time student since the beginning of my college career in 2008. My parents and I have struggled tremendously to help put me through school. It has been an extremely hard and rigorous journey. Despite all of the trials, I have been able to stay on track with my 4 year degree plan, and will be graduating on May 19, 2012! Both of my parents attended college at my age, but both dropped out early on. My parents failure in their college career has always been their drive to push me to go above and beyond. They never wanted their mistakes to influence my choices in a negative way. They have been my backbone throughout my college journey the last 3 and half years, and everyday I strive to make them proud. My parents have always wanted the best for me and I've always wanted the best for myself. My family really didn't have the funds to finance my college career, and I wasn't ready for the big responsibility of taking care of myself at such an early age.
