Twitter.com - Follow Us! Hey District 9 Fans, Neil BloomKamp is at it again and it looks like "Elysium" may finally be getting the green light! Hey Everyone I'm Chelsea Cannell, Thanks for tuning in to Clevver Movies! There have been many updates and a lot of chatter about District 9 Creator Neil BloomKamp's Next project Elysium. Naturally after the success of District, everybody's wanted a piece. Finally though, it seems like the project has settled at a studio and is gearing up for a possible April start. At first it appeared the producers were in negotiations to have universal pictures co-finance the film, but word broke today that Sony will now go it alone. Apparently, universal declined to take part in the new scifi pic but it doesn't much matter because BloomKamp couldn't be happier. In a recent statement Bloomkamp said he "literally couldn't be happier!" He then added, "I have a brilliant relationship with Sony, I loved them during district 9... they %100 get this film and they get me. Elysium is in very good hands!" The film appears to be on the fast track with Matt Damon and Jodie Foster and District 9 star Sharlto Copley already set to star. Definitely sounds like a Hollywood dream team to me. But how do you guys feel about the news? Fill us in in the comment section and don't forget to follow us on twitter @ clevver Movies. Thanks for watching!

I understand why Universal turned it down. 'District 9' was a horribly written, directed, and performed film. While it sounds as though the sequel may have a good cast lined up, if it is anything like the first film, it will have you wanting your money ba

sounds good but to be honest im nervous. D9 was great partly because it didnt have as much hype compared to this current project. expectations have multiplied for this director and in the past 10 years many films that were heavily hyped have bombed severe

great director, great actors, a studio that won't nag the director. Seems like it's in very good hands indeed.
