On April 22nd, 2012 Five men will begin their 4500km journey from Vancouver to Toronto. They will be raising awareness and advocating for Victims of Crime across Canada and also Fund raising for the Canadian Crime Victim Foundation (CCVF.NET) ------------------------------------------------------------------- In 2008 Canadians spent over 3 million dollars to provide tattoo parlors in federal penitentiaries for rapists, murderers and victimizers while their victims and their victims families are unable to find grief counseling, legal assistance, medical or financial support. In Canada convicted murderers can receive University educations at the expense of society and the siblings of their victims can not afford any form post secondary education. Canada puts more effort into tracking overdo library books than we do tracking sexual predators, child pornographers and escaped violent criminals. Crimes of finance are recorded on national credit registries. Yet convicted rapists, pedophiles and murderers can successfully hide their records and their past. "Violent crime and its devastating aftermath must be viewed far greater than crimes of finance. Victims and survivors cannot "write it off," any more then they can get over it.
