The second half of the meeting began after a short break. The first order of business was considering a proposal from Alan S. about selling Occupy Richmond prayer flags as a fundraiser to help individuals who were arrested to pay fines or legal expenses. The proposal was heard, discussed, and tabled. Then Graham explained the process we would be using for the evening to develop our goals and strategies for the coming year and next few months. Complete minutes here: occupyrva.org General Assembly reconvenes Time is 7:15 GA size is decreased by about half Discussion on Formal Proposals Graham asks group if they would like to extend Formal Proposal Time or would they like to move into Strategy Discussion 4. Allen S presents Formal Proposal: Purpose is to raise money and cover court costs for all protestors arrested at Occupy Richmond. Consideration regarding extra dollars left over after all fines and court costs are made. Sales of the Prayer Flags will occur online and in person. Receipts from online sales will accumulate in a PayPal account in my name. Cash and checks will be directly deposited into a Credit Union specifically for this. I'm not completely comfortable doing this totally on my own.
